- 1 cup (160 g) steel cut oats, rolled oats, or oat groats
- ¼ tsp salt
- Optional toppings: maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, fruit, nuts, coconut milk, nut butter
Instructions
- Preheat water bath — Set sous vide to 155°F (68°C).
- Combine base ingredients — Add oats, water, and salt into a vacuum bag, Mason jar, or heat-safe bowl.
- Seal container — Make sure the bag is airtight or the jar lid is lightly tightened.
- Cook overnight — Submerge in the water bath for 8 hours.
- Serve and customize — Add your favorite toppings and enjoy warm.
Notes
Add dairy only after cooking to prevent curdling. Try both sweet and savory toppings to keep your breakfasts interesting. Use reusable sous vide bags or Mason jars for eco-friendly cooking.
